Jordan : REACH to anticipate winter needs in Za’atari refugee camp

18 October 2013

REACH Project to anticipate winterisation needs of Syrian refugees living in Za’atari Refugee Camp to enhance aid service delivery

With temperatures dropping and winter fast approaching in Jordan, +100,000 Syrian refugees living in the Za’atari Refugee Camp may be at risk if not equipped with proper shelter and winterisation items. ACTED through its REACH initiative, and in partnership with UNHCR, will visit each of the +17,000 households in the camp to provide data on the living conditions and shelter requirements of each household. The findings presented through maps and reports will fill the existing information gaps to better inform programmatic decisions for this coming winter. To further complement these efforts, REACH will geo-reference each household in the camp to support the delivery of winterisation kits to ensure each and every household is fully equipped.
