REACH facilitated a Shelter and Wash Assessment after Typhoon Haiyan
25 November 2013
UPDATE – PHILIPPINES
Humanitarian needs in the Philippines areas hit by Haiyan are critical and therefore must be assessed in order to facilitate a coordinated and efficient multi-sectors humanitarian intervention.
REACH is taking an active role in the Multi- cluster Initial Rapid Assessment (MIRA) regarding WaSH and Shelter needs, which includes also the participation of: ACTED, IOM, Philippines Red Cross, Save the Children, Solidarités, UNHCR and UNICEF. The assessment used an abridged form of the MIRA to collect initial data at the municipal level in Leyte and Smara islands, particularly affected by the typhoon.
